Our Story //
Wed KC was originally launched in Kansas City in 2010 as EA Bride. The company focused on the power of print media and quickly became about as the most beautifully designed wedding magazine in KC. At that time, now owner Britney Jones was the writer and curator of all content, using her real-life experience as a wedding planner to fuel a vision to inspire, yet also inform engaged couples.
As lovers of everything KC, and previous wedding weekend warriors themselves, the company has infused their knowledge and passion into creating the ultimate resource platform, a go-to source for anything Kansas City wedding-related, for couples and pros alike. And in 2019, alongside all of this trailblazing came a new, fresh name, Wed KC.
Our Mission //
The mission behind Wed KC is to inspire and inform engaged couples with relevant, local planning inspiration and resources while introducing them to wedding professionals that can best serve their vision. We do that by kicking up the amount of content between covers and within our blog so that readers have the information they need to make their big day as beautiful as can be. We have hand-selected the best professionals in the industry so couples can find the most reputable people they can count on. Ultimately, we seek to build mutually beneficial relationships with everyone we work with.
At Wed KC we showcase the couples of Kansas City, and feature their stories and pictures. We’re the leader of local flavor and the pulse of innovation in the wedding industry. And we’re interactive, so don’t be afraid to join the cause. We encourage you to speak your mind, get involved, and help us turn something great into something even greater.
Our Team //
Britney – Owner & Publisher
She’s a writer. A designer. And a marketing guru all mixed into one. She went from wedding planner to venue manager to full-blown magazine mogul. Britney is, by the very definition, a Jane of All Trades.
She’s not beyond rolling up her sleeves and putting in the grit to get done exactly what she envisions. When she craved a fresher feel for the magazine, she taught herself. When she couldn’t find the right web designer, she became one. Suffice it to say, her level of dedication runs deep.
When she’s not on coffee dates with local vendors, planning galas, or creating new bridal show concepts, she collaborates on international photo shoots, using her design skills and knowledge of cutting-edge trends to raise industry standards. Her ability to innovate in what is often considered an antiquated industry has gone a long way in making Wed KC the #1 local wedding resource for Kansas City couples.
Mindi – KC Market Specialist
She’s a woman of vast industry knowledge and endless connections, awarding Mindi the coveted title of Kansas City’s Wedding Market Specialist. No one knows the scene better and that’s why her marketing advice is commonly sought out by local wedding pros.
She’s a sucker for a good cup of coffee and has a contagious kindness about her that instantly makes everyone feel at ease. And if she wasn’t sharing insight on how to get your business best aligned for success, you would almost mistake your meeting for a long-anticipated rendezvous with an old friend.
If you are working in the wedding business, Mindi is the woman to know. Luckily, she’s easily convinced that coffee is to be consumed at all hours of the day, so scheduling a meeting with her comes surprisingly easy.
Sarah – Industry Collaboration Partner
She runs her own wedding business. She coordinates educational and networking events for wedding pros. And instead of thinking inside the box, she throws it down, steps on top of it, and reaches higher for even better ideas. This is why Sarah was the clear choice to be our industry liaison for Wed KC.
When it’s time to get creative or shake up the standard, Sarah is there at the forefront making sure that Wed KC is delivering engaged couples a fresh new way to have fun while planning their wedding. She understands couples and as the owner of All My Heart Bridal, she also understands small business – and her gift of finding ways to connect the two is unmatched.
